Welcome to Journalism 8/7 at Garvey Intermediate School. In this class students will develop writing and publishing skills by engaging with texts and media that deal with contemporary issues. They will evaluate the skills and designs of accomplished publishers from news articles and editorials. Moreover, this class will support yearbook production structured around team activities and multimedia projects. Course learning outcomes include increased writing and graphic design skills and team project work proficiency.

Throughout the school year students will produce multimedia projects to be enjoyed by the Garvey Intermediate school community. In addition students will study yearbook layouts, interview etiquette, photojournalism, double page spreads and other class related concepts. Students will use Yearbook Class equipment to create a memorable yearbook for our Garvey community to enjoy.
